The Boston Public Health Commission’s Trauma Awareness & Resilience Training Institute for Youth Workers will be taking place on

Time: 9am to 3pm
Location: 727 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, 02118.
This training is FREE, and attendance to all three sessions is required. (March and April dates also open for registration)
This training is part of the national Defending Childhood Initiative (DCI) which supports systems and communities to better recognize, respond to, and prevent child and youth exposed to violence. Upon completion of the training participants will:
- Increase youth workers knowledge of youth development, traumatic stress, and resilience
- Increase youth workers self-awareness of their personal beliefs, strengths, and biases around working with youth, trauma and self-care
- Increase youth workers ability to identify and use strategies for resilience
- Increase youth workers knowledge of how race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and other identities can impact their own and youth’s responses to trauma
